Patsy Beattie-Huggan of The Quaich Inc. will be presenting at the 19th World Conference on Health Promotion and Health Education of the International Union for Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE) in Vancouver, BC, from June 10-15, 2007.
The theme of this year's conference is:
Health Promotion Comes of Age: Research, Policy & Practice for the 21st Century. The conference will commemorate and revisit the Ottawa Charter, and challenge the health promotion community to reaffirm the commitment to bringing the vision of the Charter to fruition.
The Quaich Inc. will have a significant presence at the event, with one workshop, two concurrent sessions, and a posterboard presentation:
· Applying the Circle of Health©: A Health Promotion Framework of International Interest for Education, Policy and Practice
· Tracking International Uptake of a Health Promotion Framework and Knowledge Transfer Tool – The Circle of Health©
· Developing an Integrated Curriculum for the Atlantic Summer Institute on Healthy and Safe Communities: Addressing the Root Causes of Ill Health and Crime to Build Healthier, Safer, Inclusive Communities (with Barbara Clow)

The overall mission of the conference is to review and critically reassess health promotion’s progress since the Ottawa Charter and to help set the course for navigating through the new challenges facing health promotion in an increasingly globalized world.
